An opportunity to gather and empower those with low vision to share and work together to solve the challenges related to vision loss.
We hope to help those who participate to be less alone and more understood.
Our monthly meetings are facilitated by a pioneer in the field of low vision, Tom Perski. As an individual with legal blindness, Tom is passionate about delivering helpful resources to the low vision community.

You will receive a monthly email with the Zoom link to join by computer (with or without video) and phone number if you prefer to call in by phone.
By sharing with others our successes and the challenges we confront on our path to independence, we will grow as individuals. Topics for our group meetings vary based on the needs and desires of those who attend. Examples of some group discussions would include: low vision aids, assistive technology for visual impairment, traveling as a legally blind passenger, and local transportation options. We encourage loved ones to attend as well to discuss their fears and concerns surrounding vision loss.
Foundation for Blind Children's New Horizons Senior Program is designed to provide visually impaired retirees with the tools and skills needed to live independently and confidently with vision loss. We are committed to providing training so you feel comfortable in your own home. Vision loss doesn't mean you have to completely have to change your life; it just means you have to learn some different ways to continue doing what you love.
In the support group we discuss several topics from processing vision loss to acceptance, sharing with family and friends, helpful tools for everyday life, and community support and resources.
Tom Perski has over 30 years of Low Vision experience and currently volunteers his time working with People Who Care, a non-profit organization in Prescott, Arizona, where he and his wife Diane help people with visual impairment adapt to vision loss through functional strategies, daily life tips, use of visual aids, smartphone accessibility, and assistive technologies.
